Aidan LaFrance

Jun 22, 2020
With deepest sorrow we announce that Aidan Mathieu LaFrance, son of Ray and Laura LaFrance born on Oct. 30, 1996, passed away surrounded by family on June 22, 2020, at Mat-Su Regional Valley Hospital in Palmer, Alaska.
Aidan lived in Palmer, where he participated in many sports and activities. He graduated from Palmer High and appreciated the natural wonders of the surrounding area. He loved hiking Alaska's mountains, swimming in the lakes and hitting the slopes.
After graduation, Aidan went on to work construction as a member of the laborers' union local 341 and 942 for Cruz Construction. He was quick to learn and a hard worker. Aidan had many interests from snowboarding, camping, fishing, dirt biking, sports especially hockey, to music and poetry. Those who knew him came from many walks of life and instantly recognized a friend.
He was an exceptionally loving son, brother, uncle and friend. Aidan shared a strong and special bond with his family. He loved to travel, and did so often to see his siblings and friends. He made a killer Philly cheesesteak, had the best laugh and the greenest eyes. He was generous of spirit, adventurous and an undeniably authentic soul. A true embodiment of a life well lived: to love others easily and to be so loved.
While the world is a dimmer place without him, Aidan's light shines on through the love of his family and in the lives he saved through organ donation. He will be missed every day by his family and many many friends.
Aidan is preceded in death by his niece, Alexi Bickers; and cousins, Kenny Alcantra, Tracy and Colleen Spain and Dale Badger.
He is survived by his parents, Ray and Laura LaFrance; sisters, Terina, Jacqueline, Kathleen and Lily; brothers, Sam and Piers; brothers-in-law, Cori O'Toole and Scot Irvine; nephews, Oliver, Adam, Miles and Owen; niece, Evelyn; maternal grams, Patricia Alcantra; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Thank you all for the outpouring of love and support. A celebration of his wonderful life is being planned for the summer of 2021, and will be announced in the spring.
