Ann Clinton

Ann Catherine Clinton, daughter of Barbara Clinton of Auburn, Ind., and Edward R. Clinton of Pitcarn, Pa., passed away unexpectedly of an aneurysm, at the age of 46, on March 17, 2020. Ann was born in Auburn and grew up in Anchorage, Alaska. Ann attended Chinook Elementary, Mears Jr. High and graduated from Dimond High School in 1991. She also attended the University of Iowa, working in Portland, Ore., before returning to Anchorage in 2006.

Ann was a devoted mother, who cherished time with her three children, an avid Philadelphia Flyers fan, fishing enthusiast, family historian and fostered dogs from Alaska Bully Rescue.

Ann is survived by her son, Maxwell; and daughters, Eleanor and Evan Wachsteter. Also surviving are her mother, Barbara Clinton of Anchorage; and sister and brother-in-law, Amy and Justin Contre of Phoenix, Ariz. Preceding Ann in death were her father, Edward R. Clinton; and former husband, Barton J. Wachsteter. Additional family members include: aunts, Julienne Erickson of Dayton, Ohio, Mary Smaltz and Emily Drayna of Auburn, Grace Gunderman and Elizabeth Crayne of Monroeville, Pa.; the children's grandparents, John and Lynda Wachsteter of Short Hills, N.J.; and uncle. Greg Wachsteter of New York, N.Y.; as well as special family, Deb and Larry Holmes of Hamilton, Ind.

Ann was an organ donor, given with the hope it would help another family. Summer interment services will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery in Auburn, Remembrances can be made to Alaska Bully Rescue. Ann's smile will be missed deeply by all whose lives she touched, especially her rescued dog Kona.
