Aysegul Elizabeth Eren ("Ayse"), born Aug. 16, 1982, passed Oct. 22, 2020, in San Diego, Calif., at the age of 38.
Ayse is survived by her mother, Elizabeth P. Tiernan, stepfather, Barton M. Tiernan, father, Ali Eren, stepmother, Filiz Eren; daughter, Leyla E. Tiernan; son, Matthew J. Tiernan; brother, Salih Eren; sisters, Fatma and Alissa Eren; grandparents, Robert and Marilyn Tiernan of California, and grandparents Husnu and Fatma Bilgic of Turkey.
Ayse, born in Anchorage, attended Nunaka Valley Elementary school until fourth grade when she moved to Turkey. Ayse, fluent in Turkish, returned to Anchorage at the age of 14 years and after four years attending Lumen Christi High School, was a member of the first graduating class of the high school. Following a year at Concordia University in Portland, Oregon, Ayse returned to Anchorage to begin a career in the medical industry. In 2016 she followed business opportunities to San Diego, Calif., where she eventually succumbed to a blood disorder and passed. Ayse will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.
A "COVID" limited funeral service will be held at Legacy Heritage Chapel at Angelus, Wednesday, Nov. 4th, 1:30 p.m., followed by internment at 3:00 p.m. a short walk from the chapel. Father Tom Lilly will officiate. In lieu of flowers, cards or related condolences, donations may be made, in memory of Ayse, to Lumen Christi High School, 8110 Jewel Lake Rd, Anchorage, Alaska 99502.
