Carol Ann Ellis, 77, a longtime Anchorage, Alaska, resident, died in her sleep while at home on Monday, Oct. 2, 2023.
She was born on June 29, 1946, in Ogden, Utah, to Vaughn and Dorothy "Dottie" Miller. She graduated from Bonniville High School in 1964, and Hollywood Beauty College in 1966. She married John Ellis in Elko, Nev., on June 7, 1969.
She joined her husband in Anchorage, where she and John raised their son, Troy. Carol remained in Anchorage beyond her retirement from the banking industry. After retirement, she enjoyed spending time with her grandkids, and Alaska adventures and travel with John.
She loved fishing on the Kenai River. She enjoyed camping, bowling, traveling, blackjack in Las Vegas, Nev., scrapbooking and gardening. She loved the holidays, and always went above and beyond every year to decorate, cook and embrace friends and family whether it was Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Valentine's Day or Easter – she made each one special.
Her family wrote that she loved people, and had a wonderful infectious laugh, which seemed to make everyone within earshot happier. She was the life of any gathering, and always helped wherever, and whenever she could.
Carol is survived by her husband, John; son, Troy; granddaughter, Christina; grandson, Tyler; their mom, Lori; great-grandchildren, Tyler's children, Calypso and Carter Ellis; and brother, Stan Miller.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Scott Daniels (Miller); father, Vaughn; and mother, Dorothy.
At Carol's request, there will be no service.
