Carol Marie O'Malley, Age 77, was born in Minneapolis, Minn. on Oct. 25, 1942 and passed away on Oct. 24, 2020 in Portland, Ore. She is survived by her son, Sean O'Malley of Beaverton, Ore.; and daughter, Megan O'Malley-Cook (Justin) of Portland, Ore.; and grandchildren, Payton, Jillian and Jameson Cook of Portland, Ore.; nieces, nephews, many relatives & friends. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 46 years, Dean O'Malley; her parents, John and Ida Bogema; and two brothers, Delbert and Richard. Carol graduated from North High School in Minneapolis ('60), attended the University of Minnesota earning a degree in Elementary Education ('64) and went on to earn her master's degree in Media & Technology from Minnesota State University Mankato ('79). Carol taught school in Minnesota and Alaska. After retirement, she enjoyed a second career as an independent publisher representative until moving to the Pacific Northwest to be closer to her children and grandchildren. A private service will be held at the family's request due to Covid-19 restrictions. Memorial Donations may be made in Carol O'Malley's name to SmileTrain or American Red Cross.
