Carol M. Finch, beloved daughter, sister, aunt and friend, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2020, age 63. Carol was born on April 26, 1957, in Chambley, France, to William and Huguette Finch. As an Air Force kid, Carol lived in France, Missouri, Alaska, Netherlands, Texas, and Nevada. Her family moved to Victorville, Calif., when her dad retired from the Air Force and she completed high school in 1975 at Victorville High School. Carol attended vet tech school and obtained her associate degree in nursing in 1985, later receiving her BSN from the University of Alaska Anchorage. She began her career as an RN at Victor Valley Medical Center, and in 1992, moved to Alaska. She worked in the ICU and Case Management departments at Providence Alaska Medical Center, case management at Southcentral Foundation and at Integrated Care at the VA Clinic in Anchorage.

Carol was an animal lover from a young age, and was active in competitive dog sports with Dobermans, English springer spaniels and field spaniels. Her other breeds of dogs included Japanese Chin and miniature pinscher. She was also a breeder of Champion English springer spaniels.

Carol is survived by her parents, William Sr. and Huguette Finch; sister, Joan (Max) Kinnison; and brother, William Jr. (Tammy) Finch. She also leaves behind her beloved nieces, Tamara Rocha, Jennifer Shores and Crystal Johnson; along with four great-nephews; and one great-niece. She had an extended family with many aunts, uncles and cousins in New York and France. It would be remiss not to include her adored field spaniels, Lily and Violet.

A memorial service is planned for Sept. 28, 2020, at 6:30 p.m., at the Christian Church of Anchorage.
