Longtime resident Mrs. Cecilia Ann Lamp-Elliott, 71, died on Aug. 18, 2020, at her home in Anchorage, Alaska, after a long illness. There will be no service at this time. A celebration of life will take place one year from now, per Cecilia Ann's final wishes. This event will include many eclectic pieces of music enjoyed by family and friends. She desired for all to remember her life and all she accomplished with joy.
Cecilia Ann was born on June 23, 1949, in Watertown, Coddington County, S.D., to Cecil Howard Lamp and Patricia Hauff Lamp. Cecilia Ann first came Anchorage in 1972. She loved all things Alaska. She was a Teamster Shop Steward/Worker for Carr-Gottstein. She started the Teamsters in June 1978, only retiring after a 30-year career, in 2011. Prior to working in the grocery warehouse she as a truck driver, road flagger and operated a business.
Cecilia Ann was a Catholic and enjoyed fishing on her boat "Gypsy Vixen" in the summers, and at fish camp in the winters. She touched many people's lives and was a champion for the little person. She particularly enjoyed researching family history. This adventure took her to Michigan, South Dakota, Pennsylvania, the National Archives Library in Washington, D.C., and Germany. Fort Richardson National Cemetery will be her final resting place.
Cecilia Ann was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Anthony "Tony" Lamp.
Survivors include her husband, David Elliott; stepsons, Kyle and Megan Elliott, and Joshua and Lydia Elliott; sisters, Sara and Russell Beaver, Gabriella Scriber, Mary and Fred Kramer, Nanette and John Hooper, Francine, April and Robert Dryden, Julianne and Peter Reece, Emmalee and William Bishop; and sister-in-law, Ronda Lamp; brothers, Patrick and Laurie Lamp and Howard and Lynn Lamp; grandchildren, Olivia and Beatrice Elliott of Virginia, and Elizabeth, Leeann, Matelyn and Kenzi Lamp Elliott of Alaska; and numerous nephews and nieces.
