Charles A. Ward, 56, passed away on Sept. 7, 2020, at Mat-Su Regional Hospital in Wasilla, Alaska.
Charles was born in Salem, Ore., and grew up in the Grants Pass, Ore., area. He became an Alaska resident in 1990, residing in Wasilla with his family. Charles was employed at First Student, Premier Janitorial, as well as Fronteras Spanish Immersion school. He met his wife Victoria while attending Southern Oregon State college during their sophomore year. They were married on June 24, 1989. His loving mother Laura Jensen raised him to be the wonderful man we all knew and loved.
Charles battled an aggressive and unforgiving pancreatic/liver cancer for two months after diagnosis. He will be laid to rest at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Wasilla. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date for all the wonderful people who were a part of his life.
Charles was an amazing husband, dad, grandpa, son, brother, uncle, coach and friend to so many. He enjoyed fishing, the outdoors, working on his vehicles, being involved in coaching track and football, as well as spending time with his family.
Charles is survived by his wife, Victoria Ward; daughter, Chayna Ward; son, Charles J. Ward; granddaughter, Layken Ward-Wright, all of Wasilla; mother, Laura Jensen of Portland, Ore.; sister, Sheryl Guice of Portland; sister, Christy Williams of Los Angeles, Calif.; and his nieces and nephews. Charles was respected by many and loved by all. May he rest in peace.
