Christopher William Larson, a pro snowboarder with amazing style - and a habit of getting into trouble! - died on April 12, 2020, in Sierraville, Calif.
Chris strapped on his first board as a Hilltop Hotdogger at the age of 6 and never looked back. He was riding and filming with urban street crews by the age of 12 and was a sponsored rider with Dinosaurs Will Die for 13 years.
Chris took his snowboarding to the absolute edge of personal best, a platinum standard of commitment to the moment with an intimidating amount of steeled determination and persistence. He was an inspiration to many and loved to share the sport with even the most inexperienced riders. His kindness and compassion were constant.
Chris brought light and laughter to the people who knew him, and few understood how his heart hurt for the world. He was a seeker who wanted to wake up humanity to a new perspective and commitment to global change. A huge challenge for a kind heart.
He is survived by his parents, Steve Larson and Eden Lovejoy; his sister, Ariel (Cory) Bussart; niece, Alexyss (4); nephew, Cayden (7); and numerous grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins.
A virtual Celebration of Life will be held on June 6, 2020. Details are available at www.larsonrides.com.
