David "Dave" Rodney Meyer

David "Dave" Rodney Meyer born on Nov. 25, 1946, in Independence, Kan., passed away on Friday, Feb. 21, 2020, after a battle with cancer. He is loved and survived by his brother and wife, Steven and Terri Meyer and their daughters Melissa, Erin and Andrea, and son Andrew; also by his son and wife, Ryan and Najla Meyer; and his two grandchildren, Emma and Trevor Meyer.
Dave was a longtime resident of Titusville and Mims area and a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles #3581, the Loyal Order of Moose, among others. His life was split between Alaska, Kansas and Florida, and he loved to travel the open road, driving cross-country between states. He lived in Eagle River, Alaska, for 27 years, and worked at IBEW Telecommunications and a loyal supporter at Tips. He was a Ford man and loved cars, restoring many during his lifetime. Dave is best remembered as a good time loving man with a big heart.
Services are scheduled for April 18, 2002, at Zion Lutheran Church at 219 S. 10th Street Independence, KS 67301, continuing to Mt. Hope Cemetery to be laid to rest next to his mother and father, Bettie and Walter Meyer.
