Dawson "Buddy" Lindblom

Mar 31, 1956 -

Jun 30, 2020

Buddy was born in Mission, Texas, on March 31, 1956, to Jackie and Dawson Lindblom. In the early years, Buddy, Don, David and Sherry attended school in Texas, Alaska, and Arizona. They spent quite a bit of time at the family homestead in Hatcher Pass, Alaska. He attended Valley Union High School in Elfrida, Ariz., and met the love of his life, Cindy. He and Cindy married in Elfrida, and soon moved to Alaska. They made their home and raised their sons, Gabe and Daniel, in Eagle River. Buddy worked for the Department of Public Safety for a number of years, and eventually retired from the State of Alaska Department of Corrections. After retirement, one of his favorite retreats was spending time at their cabin in Hatcher Pass. A day of snowmachining all over the Talkeetna Mountains and four-wheeling with family and friends always put a big smile on his face. Buddy had a love for all animals; many times, neighbors would call upon him for his help with a hurt or displaced critter. Of all his pets over the years, his favorite of all time was his crow "Roscrow."

Buddy is survived by his wife, Cindy; son, Daniel; grandson, Sullivan; brothers, David (Kristine) and Don (Kristi); stepmother, Yvonne; and many cherished family members in Arizona and Massachusetts. He was preceded in death by his son, Gabe; his parents, Dawson and Jackie; and his sister, Sherry.

Buddy will live on in our hearts and always be remembered by his tremendous wit, remarkable sense of humor, and his incredible, amazing and true stories about experiences only he could have had.

Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, a Celebration of Life will be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center, they are dedicated to conservation, research, education and animal care: 907-783-0058.
