Dorothy Ann Rider

Dorothy Ann Rider passed away at home from natural causes on April 12, 2020, at the age of 78. As per her wishes, no services are scheduled.

She was born on June 16, 1941, in Philadelphia, Pa., where she was a graduate of Germantown High School. Dorothy was a welder in California from 1978-79. She lived in Kodiak, Alaska, from 1980-82, finally residing in Anchorage, Alaska, from 1985 until her passing. During her lifetime, Dottie was a longtime employee of the Dimond Center, working at Jamico's Restaurant from 1985-89, and transitioned to janitorial until her retirement in 1999. Dottie enjoyed connecting with friends and family on Facebook. She was loved and respected by everyone who knew her. She will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her spouse, James E. Rider; Nancy Shanks of Torrance, Calif.; David and Douglas Pinkerton of New Jersey; and Franklin M. Pinkerton of Calabash, N.C.

Dottie is survived by her sister, Marjorie Phy of Bath, Pa.; daughter, Jenean Mace of Lockhaven, Pa.; sons, James L. Boyd Jr. of Anchorage and Michael D. Milacek of Anchorage; as well as seven grandchildren.
