Elaine May Juliussen

Longtime Alaska resident Elaine May (Kennedy)Juliussen, 91, passed away peacefully at Prestige Care Center in Anchorage, Alaska, from complications of dementia. Elaine was born on Dec. 13, 1928, to Harold Travis and Pearl (Beck) Kennedy in Bremerton, Wash.

She first came to Alaska in 1929, and lived in Seward where her father was a Section Foreman for the Alaska Railroad. Elaine's father died when she was just 6 years old and she moved to Oak Harbor on Whidbey Island, Wash., to live with her paternal grandparents, Clarence and Libbie (Kennedy) Scheiber.

Elaine returned to Alaska in 1956, and resided in Anchorage until her passing. She was a kind, caring, compassionate person and was loved by all who knew her. Elaine was also a wonderful mother and mother-in-law, always willing to help her family and friends.

Elaine is preceded in death by her son, Sam of Oregon. She leaves behind her sons, Sagen (Annette), Jim (Patti) and Ron (Linda) of Alaska, and Bill of Wyoming; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Per her wishes, no formal services are planned.
