Eleanor Ah Choy Hung

Born in the Territory of Hawaii on Jan. 14, 1935, Eleanor peacefully passed away on Aug. 6, 2020, in Anchorage, Alaska, among family and friends.

As a child, Eleanor was able to rise through much adversity. She graduated from Waipahu High School and continued her education at UCLA and UC Berkley in public health microbiology. She traveled the world integrating laboratories into third world clinics in the 1960s with WHO. Eleanor continued her technical expertise in the state of Alaska clinics. Eleanor was listed in the Who's Who of American Women and Notable World Women for her extraordinary humanitarian contributions.

An adventurous spirit and a determined woman, Eleanor couldn't resist momentous travels as well as cherished camping and fishing expeditions in her beloved Alaska.

She is predeceased by all her siblings.

Eleanor is survived by many nieces and nephews. A private service will be held in Honolulu, Hawaii.
