Elizabeth Rodes

July 15, 1957 -

May 30, 2020

Elizabeth Diane Rodes, "Liz," age 62, passed away peacefully at home with her family in St. Louis, Mo., on May 30, 2020.

Liz was the much-loved eldest daughter, sister, aunty and great-aunty. She lived in Alaska from infancy, splitting time between there and St. Louis. From her earliest days, Liz was a helper. She helped her parents raise her four younger children. She chose to spend her life with her family. She always had a project or a fun activity to get everyone involved. She made everyone feel she was listening and could point out errors without judgment. No one got away with being selfish or mean. She was the center of our family. We never imagined being without her. Her life was about thinking about and caring for others.

Liz loved animals and every animal she ever had lived well beyond its years. Liz was good at fixing things. She could fix a project by looking at it and identifying the problem. She never said no to anyone who needed help. She did not act out of duty, she acted out of love. Liz was devoted to her family and loved to spend time with them. Her joy was spending time with her nieces, Diamonda, Alexandra and Zoe; nephews, Nickolas and George; and her grandniece and grandnephews.

Liz is survived by her parents, Janice and Gus Rodes; siblings, Elaine Wright (John), Nick Rodes (Barbara), Alice Bullington (Lee) and Susan Anderson (Max Evans); proud aunt of Diamonda, Alexandra, Nickolas, Zoe and George; and great-aunt to Joey, Allie, Nicky, Hendrix Niko, Nikos and Apollo.
