Elmer Patson

Elmer A. Patson, age 96, of Anchorage, Alaska, died on Thursday, Feb. 6, 2020, with family members by his side.

Elmer was born to Gust and Anna Patson on July 22, 1923, in Menahga, Minn. He grew up in Menahga, went to Fairbanks, Alaska, in 1947, and then moved with his family to Anchorage in June 1949. He was owner of E.A.Patson Parts & Equipment for 58 years. Elmer was an avid outdoorsman who shared his passion and sense of adventure with his family. Elmer was united in marriage to Ellen L. Kalenius on Dec. 26, 1942. They raised five children. Elmer was a member of the Independent Apostolic Lutheran Church. He was preceded in death by wife, Ellen, of 72 years; his parents; one son, Earl; three sisters; and two brothers. Elmer is survived by daughter, Phyllis (Don) Isaacs of Hibbing, Minn.; son, Rodney (Beverly) Patson of Anchorage; daughter, Arlene Bishop of Anchorage; son, Wayne (Judy) Patson of Appomattox, Va.; daughter, Nancy Patson of Anchorage, sister-in-law, Florence Kalenius of Pine City, Minn.; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and his special dog, Lacey.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2020, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Evergreen Memorial Chapel in Anchorage. Funeral Services will be held at a later date at the Independent Apostolic Lutheran Church in Menahga. Interment will be in Menahga City Cemetery.
