Eva Endicott
Nov 22, 1922 -
June 8, 2020
Eva Endicott, age 97, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2020. Eva was born in November 1922 in Denver, Colo. She met Robert "Bob' Endicott while working at Denver General Hospital and in 1943 they got married. Eva and Bob with their four children moved to Alaska in 1954. Eva was preceded in death by her husband, Bob; her eldest son, James "Jim"; and her youngest son, Robert "Rob." She is survived by her son, Terrence "Terry" Endicott; daughter-in-law, Ann Woodburn; and granddaughter-in-law, Sara Rashad; her daughter, Jean (Endicott) Starr; and granddaughters, Rachel Starr and Cathryn Starr.
Eva loved Alaska; she loved the rugged beauty and accessible wilderness areas. As a younger woman, she spent as much time as possible with her family enjoying excursions to as many accessible parts of Alaska as she could. She embraced the Alaskan ethos – a land of extremes – for Eva, Alaska was "God's Country" and she considered herself most fortunate to have lived there for more than six decades. She will rest in peace in the land she loved.
The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to the many people who made it possible for Eva to live out her last years with dignity, in peace, comfort and safety. Our heartfelt thanks to Mary Starks of O.P.A. for her dedication, professionalism and principled advocacy on Eva's behalf. The family wishes to thank Pal and Steven McAdams for their loving care and support while Eva resided in Anchorage. We are deeply grateful to the personnel of Providence Seward Mountain Haven for providing excellent care for Eva and a loving, nurturing environment. May the good you all do for others be multiplied back to you.
