George Charles Lathim

Longtime Anchorage, Alaska, resident George C. Lathim passed away at home on April 22, 2020, at the age of 88. He was born on March 14, 1932, to Grafton and Agnes Lathim in Ryderwood, Wash. He briefly lived in Yakima, Wash., before moving to Anchorage in 1962. He proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1956. George was the owner of Polar Reproduction Supply, which he operated from 1962, until his retirement in 2002.

George was a homebody who loved watching sports with his son. He loved his family more than anything. His granddaughter gave him so much joy watching her grow up her first 10 years of her life. Victoria loves her papa.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister; and a son-in-law. George is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Esther Lathim; children, Lynn Brown and Greg Lathim; and granddaughter, Victoria Brown, all of Anchorage. No services are scheduled at this time.
