Janice L. Lipse

Janice L. Lipse was called home after nearly 92 years on this earth. Janice was born in New Orleans, La., where she met and married the love of her life, John J. Lipse Jr. They resided in Chalmette, La., for the majority of their marriage. Together they moved to Wasilla, Alaska, after Hurricane Katrina claimed their house and most of their belongings. She lived in Wasilla for 17 years.

Janice is preceded in death by her daughter, Naomi A. Lipse; husband of over 60 years, John J. Lipse; son, Eric J. Lipse; parents, Earl and Naomi LeBlanc; along with five siblings and their spouses; and granddaughter Carmen Moore

Janice is survived by two sons, Keith E. Lipse (Linda) and Kevin C. Lipse (Dana); three grandsons, Chad J. Lipse (Meghann), Eric J. Lipse Jr. and Cody D. Lipse; along with six great-grandchildren, Angler, Rill, Hadassah, Delta, Dakota and Aurora.

Janice loved her children, grandchildren, her dog Baby and her whole family with all of her heart.

Janice was a lifelong homemaker, who was very active with her children's' schooling and activities. She loved going to church, traveling, showing her Irish setters and camping. She was a member of the Red Hatters, both in Louisiana and Alaska. She enjoyed socializing very much and in the early 60s she was named the Queen of the Mardi Gras Parade Alpheus.

Janice was a strong, determined lady. She lost her only daughter to spinal meningitis and still, although heartbroken for the rest of her life, managed to finish strong with a beautiful life. She knew the Lord, and He guided her through every step.

Janice's Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2023, at 11:30 a.m., at Sacred Heart Church, 1201 East Bogard Road in Wasilla.
