Joan Elizabeth "Jo" Voorhis, 87, of Palmer, Alaska, passed away peacefully in her home on March 7, 2020, in the loving arms of her beloved husband Paul Voorhis. Joan was born on Nov. 23, 1932, in Concord, N.H.

Joan is preceded in death by her parents, Otis Gordon and Margret Bell Fall; siblings, Gordon, Carolyn and Pauline; daughter, Elizabeth Lee Nickerson; and son-in-law, Earl William Nickerson.

Joan is survived by her husband of 50 years, Paul Eugene Voorhis; two sons and daughter-in-law, Richard John Mackey and wife Patrica Gail Mackey and William Eric Mackey; nine grandchildren, Angela, Kendralee, Brenda, Heather, Isaac, Bridget, Rebecca, Roland and Eno; 25 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Services will be held on March 15, 2020, at 3 p.m., at the Alaskan Heritage Memorial Chapel, 1015 South Check Street in Wasilla, Alaska.
