Sep 10, 2022
John W. Piper II, 76, lost his 22-year battle with cancer on Sept. 10, 2022, in his home. He was born on May 27, 1946, in Tacoma, Wash., the son of John W. Sr. and Betty (Haven) Piper.
He served in the U.S. Army, but most importantly he started at the bottom of the North Slope and worked his way up until he retired as a tool pusher for Doyon Drilling Inc. in 2018. The effort he put into work was nothing compared to what he put into his family. He was a amazing husband, father, uncle, grandfather and friend. John Piper was a friend to anyone. His top hobby was Model A's and he was a top of the line Model A'er. He will forever be remembered as a one-of-a-kind boss, a true-hearted partier and an out-of-this-world pingpong player.
He is survived by his wife; four children;10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild; along with many nieces and nephews. John W. Piper II will forever be the best grandfather to exist.
