A memorial gathering will be held for Lance on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., at the BP Energy Center off New Seward Highway and 36th Avenue in Anchorage, Alaska. Nothing formal, just an opportunity for friends to gather, view photographs and visit with each other.

Lance first moved to Anchorage in the mid-80s, where he worked as a broadcast engineer. His Alaska career included KIMO Channel 13, KTUU Channel 2 and Alaska Public Media (PBS) KAKM Channel 7.

Lance was an avid fly fisher and a Life Member of the Alaska Fly Fishers, having served as President, Secretary, as well as many other offices and responsibilities.

As a competitive shooter, Lance participated in league trials at ranges wherever he lived, his local favorite being Birchwood.

A talented amateur photographer since his days in the Navy, he leaves friends and family several wonderful images from his hobby.

Lance enjoyed a broad range of music. He played guitar and recorded some of his own music.

To Lance from all of us: We hope the light is gorgeous, the music's good and the fish are willing. Rest in peace, dear friend.
