Lenora Ann Teerik, 60, passed away on Sept. 1, 2020, in Ogden, Utah. On Feb. 7, 1960, in Barrow, Alaska, Lenora Ann was born to Phillip Grant Teerik and Eunice Jane (Nashaknik). Lenora was the third eldest in what would eventually become seven children. Lenora and her family spent about 7 years in Chicago, Ill., where her father had taken employment. Eventually, the family would settle back in their hometown of Barrow and return to the subsistence lifestyle. Lenora graduated from Barrow High School in 1979.
It was in Barrow that Lenora met George "Reed" Featherly, whom she married. Together, Lenora and Reed had two children: George V, and Tamara Lynn. The family relocated to Anchorage, Alaska, in 1986, and remained there to raise their family. Lenora and Reed divorced after they spent 35 years together and parted on good terms.
Lenora worked for UIC Construction and the UIC family of companies for 22 years as a Project Coordinator and Administrative Manager. In 2009, she went to work for ASRC SKW Eskimos Inc. as a Senior Project Coordinator through 2015.
Lenora loved to bake, jigsaw and crossword puzzles, Hallmark movies and crotchet. She specialized in crotchet hats and made many that have been distributed to family members all over the state. More than anything, Lenora loved her family.
Lenora was preceded in death by her father, Phillip; her mother, Eunice; her sister, Mina Marie Moses; her brother, Phillip Teerik Jr.; and her son, George Reed Featherly V.
Lenora is survived by her daughter, Tamara Lynn Featherly and her partner John Cooke and kids Jadyn and Gavin; and sisters, Sandra Hopson and her husband Dwayne, Phyllis Ivanoff and her husband James, Evelyn Teerik and Molly Spicer. She was aaka to fur kids Louie, Lily, Lady and Buggie.
A service is scheduled for noon on Thursday, Sept. 10, 2020, at Anchorage Funeral Home. Pastor Dave Wilson will officiate. Burial is scheduled for 3 p.m., at Angelus Memorial Park. Lenora will be laid to rest near her son, Georgie. Condolences may be offered at 3269 S 2250 W, West Haven, UT 84401.
