Linda M. Mullan
Dec 17, 1947 -
Oct 16, 2024
Linda passed away at her home in Anchorage, Alaska, on Oct. 16, 2024. Linda was born in Kodiak and raised in the village of Afognak. Alaska. She attended Mt. Edgecumbe and Sheldon Jackson high schools in Sitka, Alaska, and went on to earn a Licensed Practical Nursing degree from Haskell Institute in Lawrence, Kan. She returned to Alaska and worked at Providence in Anchorage for many years before moving to Kodiak in 1981, where she worked at Providence for 20 years. In 2001, she became a traveling nurse, first in Elko, Nev., and then Butte, Mont. She then bought a house and settled in Clarkston, Wash., where she worked at the IHS Clinic in Lapwai, Idaho.
In 2006, following the birth of her special needs grandson, Scott, Linda moved back to Anchorage permanently to help in his raising and at the same time worked at the Alaska Native Medical Center until her retirement in 2018.
Linda was an avid quilter and attended many quilting retreats where she would have the stitchers in stitches. She loved to read - if she disappeared you could find her curled up with a book and a box of Milk Duds. She loved country music and thought nothing of hopping on a plane to attend a Willie Nelson concert. Her son says that one of his mom's favorite things to do in recent years was to be taken on drives to look for moose. Linda loved travel and visited almost all of the 50 states and traveled twice to Europe. The photo here was taken in Paris. Her life was filled with crazy escapades and one of her charms was her ability to tell on herself and have you laughing in disbelief.
Linda was the daughter of the late Patrick (Paddy) and Nadia Mullan. She leaves daughter, Julie Stoneking-Radford; son, Quinten Kiminock; granddaughters, Mia and Alyssa; and the absolute joy of her life, her special needs grandson, Scott. Linda also leaves her siblings: Mary Fearn, Patrick Mullan Jr., Patricia Kozak and Norman Mullan.
Condolences may be sent to her family at 4059 Olympic Terrace Circle, Anchorage, AK 99507.
