Linda Morphis-Haydock, 72, a resident of Anchorage, Alaska, since 1984, died on Aug. 13, 2020 after years of bravely battling cancer. She died in her home, quietly, peacefully and surrounded by her children, grandchildren and husband.

She will have a viewing at Kehl's Chapel, 11621 Old Seward Highway, from 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m., with a graveside service at Angelus Memorial Park Cemetery starting at 1 p.m. If you would like to attend the service, the cemetery requires guests to bring their own chair and wear a mask, due to COVID-19.
Linda was born on Oct. 7, 1947, in Aurora, Ill. Her family moved to Torrance, Calif., when she was young, and she spent the first half of her life in California. After moving to Alaska in 1984, she held several jobs and finally settled in a career in real estate where she made many lifelong friends. To her family, Linda was "an exceptional mother, grandmother and wife who loved gardening, dogs and birds." She had "amazing kindness and never-ending love." In retirement, "she became a professional grandma, and devoted her life to making people feel special, buying presents for her grandchildren, and feeding her dogs treats - in moderation."
She is survived by her husband, Larry; two daughters, Leanne (husband Frank) and Heather; three sons, Dan (wife Jessica), Eric (girlfriend Stephanie) and Tom (wife Rose); and 14 grandchildren, Amanda, Sean, Derek, Andrew, Trisha, Briahnna, Fallon, Paisley, Richard, Ahna, Jordyn, Julian, Olivia and Violet. Linda is preceded in death by her parents, Larry and Kay; sister, Marilyn; and son, Rick. In lieu of flowers, her family asks that you donate to the ASPCA, which Linda was a donor to.
