On Thursday, Sept. 3, 2020, Marlene Rosebecke, loving wife and mother of two children, passed away at the age of 69.
Marlene was born on Oct. 8, 1950, in Duncan, Okla., to Otis and Ruth Boles, who served several decades in Christian ministry. On Nov. 9, 1973, she married Eugene Rosebecke, who served in the Army for 20 years. After military retirement both Gene and Marlene attended Nazarene Bible College in Colorado Springs, Colo., where Gene earned his bachelor's degree in biblical studies, and Marlene received her women's and lay ministry degree. Gene went on to serve as a Nazarene Pastor in several locations as Marlene served alongside him for 25 years in Christian service. They raised a son, Jason Rosebecke and daughter, Heather Miller.
Marlene enjoyed helping, giving and serving others in any way that was needed. She thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren. She also loved shopping with anyone she could convince to go with her. Marlene's sassy spirit took second place to her infectious smile, her unselfish generosity and compassionate heart.
Marlene was preceded in death by her parents, Otis and Ruth. She is survived by her husband, Gene, who resides in Anchorage, Alaska. Her son Jason, his wife Cindy and son Ben make their home in Houston, Texas. Her daughter Heather, her husband Sam and their children Kaitlynn, Ashley, Joshua and Emily live in Wasilla, Alaska. Also, her sister Nancy King and her husband Dan live in Hendersonville, Tenn., along with their three children who live in various places.
A celebration of life service will be held on Sept. 12, 2020, at Church on the Rock, 3571 W. Machen Road, Wasilla, AK 99654, at 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, we ask for a donation to be made to the Anchorage Women's Shelter, https://covenanthouseak.org.
