Martina Rose (Ayaprun) Rapoza, 54, passed away on Friday, Aug. 7, 2020, with her family by her side after battling cancer.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m.on Thursday, Aug. 13, 2020, at the Kenai City Cemetery. Pastor Adam Meyers officiated. A private viewing was held prior.
Martina was born on July 19, 1966, in Bethel, Alaska. She graduated high school and attended college. She had lived in Kipnuk, Bethel and Eagle River, Alaska, and on Maui, Hawaii, before moving to Kenai, Alaska, a few years ago with her family.
Martina was Moravian. She enjoyed beading, sewing, knitting, crocheting, all Native subsistence activities, berry picking and cutting fish.
Her family wrote: "Martina was known to all as the most selfless, giving woman. She loved to laugh, joke and spend time with her family. She was a true blessing to all who knew her. Martina will forever be our precious baby sister, wife, mom, grandmother, aunt and friend."
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Julia Ayaprun; and her brother, Richard Jones.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Michael Rapoza; son, Michael Rapoza Jr.; daughter, Caitlin Rapoza, all of Kenai; brothers, Adolph and Harry Ayaprun, both of Kipnuk, and Steven Ayaprun of Bethel; sisters, Sally Kashatok and Agnes Ayaprun, both of Kipnuk, and Liz John of Kwigillingok; and her granddaughter, Malia Rapoza of Kenai.
