Marvin "Marv" Staudinger, 88, passed away peacefully at home in Anchorage, Alaska, on Sept. 22, 2020. Marv was born on Feb. 7, 1932, in Kossuth, Wis., to the late Joseph and Helen Staudinger. Marvin served in the United States Air Force from 1950-1973 and was a proud veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars. Marvin made his journey to Alaska in 1970, where he became a resident of Chugiak. Marv was married to the love of his life Leona "Lee" Staudinger. Marvin was employed by the Bureau of Land Management from 1973-1986. He enjoyed flying, hunting, fishing, canoeing, camping, chess, reading, was a big Green Bay Packers fan and enjoyed gambling trips to Reno, Nev. Marvin was the most patient and kindhearted man who deeply loved his family. The most honorable man we have ever known.
Marvin is preceded in death with his brothers: Leroy, Luallyn "Al" and Lloyd Staudinger. He is survived by his loving wife, Lee Staudinger; sister, Marlene Jean Zeddies from Manitwoc, Wis.; daughters, Jo Ann Forbes (Mike), Rita Atchison (John) and Brenda Uchtman; son, Mel Staudinger; granddaughters, Jody Garrett, Stacy Schneider and Angie Pokrifky; grandsons, Mark Staudinger, Garret Staudinger, Ryan Atchison, Jamey Atchison and Adam Uchtman; and seven great-grandchildren.
A service will be held on Thursday, Oct. 1, 2020, at 10 a.m., located at St. Patrick's Parish, 2111 Muldoon Road; Father Leo Walsh will be officiating. The burial will be held at Fort Richardson National Cemetery on Oct. 1, 2020, at 2:30 p.m. Arrangements are entrusted with Janssen Funeral Homes.
