Apr 3, 2020

Max Kersbergen, 87, passed away on April 3, 2020, in Anchorage, Alaska, from complications with dementia. He joined his Lord and loving wife Carole of 60 years in Heaven.

Max was a Naval Hospital Corpsman in the 1951-1955 Korean Conflict. He went on to education achievements in pharmacy, general business and labor relations, and hospital and health administration. Max chose hospital administration as his career and managed hospitals in Illinois, Wisconsin, Oregon and Alaska. His additional accomplishments included an agent of real estate, agent of life insurance, Creekside Bed and Breakfast, Physician Risk Control Management Surveyor, Administrative Assistant for Anchorage Water and Wastewater Utility, with his greatest personal fulfillment involving grant work with KATB Christian Radio.

Max loved his family. He loved and adored his wife. Max leaves behind four children; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild, who all gave him great pride; also relatives in Minnesota and Iowa whom he loved and treasured.

Max loved to help others. He was a giving, humble and selfless example for the rest of us. Day or night he would run to help a family member or friend, setting aside his own agenda. He also assisted in helping others with grief sharing ministries thru the local jail and ABT church.

Max lived in Anchorage for his final 45 years. He loved Alaska and enjoyed sojourns on the road system with Carole. Max fished, snowmobiled, played dominoes, read stories to his grandchildren and helped his sons and daughter with projects. His home was always open and available for holiday gatherings, barbecues and special times, which will be memories for us to last a lifetime. While his family and friends will miss his warm greetings and smiles, we should celebrate his eternal life with those that have passed before him.

Max's family members want to pass on our sincere appreciation to the attentive care providers at the Anchorage Pioneer Home and the physicians/nurses at the VA Clinic and JBER Hospital. You have been a constant source of comfort to our family.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to Christian radio.
