Michael Adolf Wakaliuk, 54, of Wasilla, Alaska, passed away suddenly on Monday, Aug. 3, 2020. Michael was born on Aug. 20, 1965, in Anchorage, Alaska, to parents Rosemarie and Adolf Wakaliuk.
Michael's greatest accomplishment was becoming a Journeyman Electrician, after 4 years of hard work, determination and on-the-job training through ABC of Alaska Apprenticeship & Craft Training Program. As a young man, Michael enjoyed body building, was an Eagle Scout and served time in the Army. He was a devoted father to his daughter Heather Rose, as well as a loving husband to his wife Maria, with whom he enjoyed traveling all over Alaska. Michael also enjoyed cooking, cooking shows and skiing.
Michael is survived by his current wife, Maria; daughter, Heather Barnes and her husband Adam; father, Adolf Wakaliuk; older sister, Carmen Tracy and her husband Mark; younger brother, Wolfgang Wakaliuk and his wife Annette; nieces and nephews, Christian, Matthew, Ripley, Gabriel, Madison and Hunter; grandchildren, Apryl, Layci, Chloe, Bridger, Samuel, Jeremiah and Benjamin; as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins all over the world.
Michael is preceded in death by his mother, Rosemarie (Ilse Marlis Mylius) Wakaliuk; maternal grandparents, Reinhold and Elsbeth (Kreie) Mylius; and paternal grandparents, Anton Wakaliuk and Olga (Materna-Wakaliuk) Duezewitz.
A private family Celebration of Michael's Life will take place at a later date. As per his wishes, his remains will be spread throughout Alaska's waters.
