Lifelong Alaska resident Misty M. Garner, 41, died on July 10, 2020, in Anchorage, Alaska.
A service will be held at St. Innocent Russian Orthodox Cathedral, 401 Turpin Street in Anchorage, at 1 p.m. and burial at Angelus Memorial Park at 3 p.m., on July 21, 2020.
Misty was born on Dec. 18, 1978, in Anchorage to Kathryn and Arnold Garner. She graduated from West High School in 1997 in Anchorage. Misty also graduated from University of Alaska Anchorage with an Associate of Arts.
Misty has resided in Alaska for 41 years, both in Kodiak and Anchorage.
Misty's previous employment included Southcentral Foundation, Afognak and Koniag. Misty enjoyed spending her extra time with her nieces and nephews.
Her family wrote: "We would like to thank all of the family and friends that have called or came to visit, provided food and contributed donations. You have all helped us through this time and we are so thankful for it.
She is survived by her parents, Kathryn and Arnold Garner of Anchorage; her brother and his wife, James and Clarissa Garner of Anchorage; her sister and her husband, Tiana and Jason Burley of Oceanside, Calif.; nephews, Myles Garner and Jathan Garner; nieces, Markayla Katchatag and Seneca Garner; and numerous aunties, uncles and cousins. Misty is preceded in death by her grandparents, Virginia and Woodrow Morrison of Hydaburg, Alaska, and Margaret and Richard Rood of Anchorage.
