Myung Soon "Sarah" Kim, 85, passed away peacefully on Mar. 22, 2025, in Anchorage, Alaska.

Born on Apr. 23, 1939, in Korea, Myung Soon Kim lived a life marked by compassion, resilience and devotion to her family and community. She pursued her education at Ewha Womans University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing in 1961 - a profession that reflected her caring nature and commitment to helping others. She immigrated with her young family to Anchorage in 1970, where she embarked on a career as a Registered Nurse that spanned almost 50 years. Her dedication to the well-being of others was evident not only in her professional life but also in the warmth and generosity she extended to those around her. Known for being both caring and outgoing, she formed lasting friendships wherever she went and was cherished by many for her kind spirit. Myung was deeply devoted to her family. She is survived by her beloved husband, Boo Yul "Paul" Kim; her daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Ron Broyles; her sons, Jung Kim and Sang Kim; and her grandchildren, Brendan, Emma, and Benjamin Broyles, who brought immense joy to her later years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jung Hong Kim and Yeon Hwa Lee and sister, Boon Soon Shin. In retirement, Myung embraced the opportunity to travel regularly. These journeys allowed her to explore new places and cultures while deepening connections with friends and loved ones. Her adventurous spirit and zest for life remained strong throughout the years.

A memorial service will be held at the Petroleum Club in Anchorage on Saturday, Apr. 12, 2025, at 12:30 p.m. A lunch reception will follow.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations be made to one of Myung's favorite charities - Special Olympics Alaska, Ewha Womans University, the Korean American Community of Anchorage scholarship program, or St. Andrew Kim Korean Catholic Church.
