Nancy Jean Brys, nee Watts, age 72, wife and soul mate of Lawrence "Larry" William Brys, passed away in her home in Anchorage, Alaska, on Saturday, April 4, 2020. Born on May 25, 1947, in Bexar County, Texas, she was the daughter of the late John Chester Watts and Virginia Marie Watts, nee Devlin. She and Larry were married for 51 years. They moved to Alaska in 1976 and have remained in Alaska since.
Nancy worked for and retired from the State of Alaska District Attorney's Office. She was passionate about singing and sang with Sweet Adeline's and the choir at Saint Benedict's Catholic Church. She was kind, affectionate, loving and charitable, with an easy laugh and a big smile. She loved animals and she and Larry had mutually adored their pets. She loved angels and roses, which Larry brought her often.
She is survived by her two children: Virginia Christine Cornwell and Lawrence John Brys. She is survived by four grandchildren, Michael Cornwell, Destiny Cardenas, Wisdom Cornwell and Noah Cornwell; and one great-grandson, Marvel Cardenas. She is survived by five siblings: Carol Rich, Patricia Radley, Steven Watts, Virginia Watts and Sharon Watts.
Nancy will be interred in Gahanna, Ohio, where her children live. Her husband and children plan to host a celebration of life for Nancy in Gahanna, Ohio. If you would like to make a charitable donation in her name, Larry suggests donations to the American Red Cross, as Nancy faithfully donated blood for decades.
