Paula Renee Clark

Jan 3, 1953 -

Jan 12, 2020

Paula Renee Clark, 67, passed away on Jan. 12, 2020, on Crooked Lake in Big Lake, Alaska. Paula was born on Jan. 3, 1953, to Billy Joe and Mary Robert Clark in Ranger, Texas. Paula graduated from Ranger High School in 1971, participating in the Ranger High School band, as well as being a majorette. After graduation, Paula followed in her mother's footsteps and became a beautician.

Her passion for life and adventure took her to the small town of Big Lake. There, she opened her own salon, Clip N' Curl, in downtown Big Lake, immediately becoming a staple in the community. Meeting many people over the years, Paula eventually found her "Besties," Maggie O'Hara and Sandy Payan. After the death of her brother Billy, Paula decided to return to Texas to spend more time with family. Distance and time away never damaged their bond and friendship, but only made it stronger. When Paula was diagnosed with stage four cancer her faith in God never wavered, her love for others continued to grow untouched. Paula returned home to Big Lake, where she passed onto her next great adventure surrounded by those who loved her.

Paula was preceded in death by her parents, Billy Joe and Mary; and brother, Billy. She is survived by many cousins and friends in Texas, to include Mary Rivera. She is also survived by her Alaska family: best friends, Maggie O'Hara and Sandy Payan; niece, Amanda Wheeler; as well as numerous friends. Special thanks to Glenda with Ancora for making Paula's final days comfortable; Pastor Ethan Hanson with Faith Bible Fellowship for his constant guidance at a moment's notice; to Maggie O'Hara and Jon Yancey for their hospitality and comfort to Paula; and to Tim Dickman for his generous gift for Paula at the time of her death.
