Soldotna, Alaska, resident Ramey Donald Pipkin, 47, passed away Nov. 18, 2023, at Alaska Regional Hospital in Anchorage, Alaska, after battling cancer.

A celebration of his life will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at 30612 Peanuts Court in Soldotna. Renie Pipkin will officiate.

Ramey was born on April 15, 1976, in Everett, Wash., to Marilyn and Ron Pipkin. He also had a brother, Ryan. He attended school in Washington state, graduating from Cashmere High School.

He moved to Alaska in 1995, and lived in Girdwood, Anchorage and Delta Junction before settling in Soldotna. He worked in construction, home building and was a woodworker.

He was always great with kids.

Ramey enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, woodworking, spending time with his son Korbin and grandson Layne, and snowboarding.

His family wrote: "In loving memory of Ramey who's life was a blessing and memory a treasure. He fought his battle with melanoma cancer with courage and strength. Throughout his lifetime he left many footprints of love, faith, compassion and courage. He loved his son Korbin and grandson Layne immensely and expressed their future be full of happiness."

"Ramey had lots of fond memories and stories of family members and friends. His path led him to extreme adventures of fishing, hunting, snowboarding and camping throughout Alaska and Washington. He was also proud of his time as a hot shot firefighter and was known for his artistic creativity. Thank you to all who crossed paths with Ramey throughout his journey of life. God Bless and Rest in Peace."

He survived by his parents, Ron And Marilyn Pipkin; brother, Ryan and wife Renie; son, Korbin Pipkin; grandson, Layne Pipkin of Anchorage; and too many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews to mention, but all loved.
