Robert J. Fowler
Mar 22, 1943 -
Nov 25, 2024
Robert accepted Christ and was baptized at a young age; he loved God and was blessed by his grace. The Lord called Robert because it was time, the clock had struck and the gate was open.
Robert J. Fowler passed away peacefully at home on Nov. 25, 2024, at the age of 81.
He was born in Spartanburg, S.C., to A.W. and Dora Miller Fowler.
After serving two decades in the U.S. Air Force, he continued his career as a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service.
He enjoys fishing, playing cards, listening to music and playing his album collection. Robert, often known as a Jaybird to close friends and Bob by co-workers, was a man of style and a smooth dancer. He was a dedicated fan of the L.A. Lakers, L.A. Dodgers, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the South Carolina Gamecock football team.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. A.W. and adored mother Dora Miller Fowler.
Robert's life will be remembered and celebrated through the life of his loving and devoted wife of 31 years, Carol Ann Fowler; children, Tonya, Kevin and Tara; a host of grandchildren, Michael, Vashaun, Miya, Lasayha, Mahaila, Tailei and Radeyah; great-grandchildren; and one remaining uncle, Leroy Miller.
Robert was the oldest of 10 half-siblings; Linda Samuel, Sue B. Sims, Katie Brown, Mamie Huey, Kabrey Nesbit, Carolyn Drummond, J.W. Brown, James Brown, Adam Lee Griffin and Winston Baker.
Tentatively, a memorial will be held at a family gathering in Anchorage, Alaska, and one in South Carolina sometime in the future to celebrate and honor the legacy of Robert J. Fowler.
The family would like to thank everyone for all the prayers, love, support and kind words.
