Rosemary Romberg Wiener, 72, passed away peacefully Feb. 7, 2020, in Anchorage, Alaska, surrounded by her six children and their spouses and in the loving and protective embrace of her husband Steve. Rosemary was born on Feb. 20, 1947, to Harland and Mary Jo Romberg in Omaha, Neb. After relocating to California, she attended UC Santa Barbara where she met her future husband Steve. They married in 1970 in Santa Barbara.
Rosemary found her true calling as a nurturing mother, raising her six children. There was nothing that brought her more joy than to be surrounded by her family. Rosemary was an avid crafter and creator, and a tireless protector and a revered longtime member of organizations dedicated to the protection of infant rights. Rosemary had a lifetime love of angels and it brings the family some comfort to know that she is now among them. Although Rosemary enjoyed herself everywhere she found herself, she particularly liked spending time in tropical locations after Steve retired, where she welcomed her visiting children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed ocean cruises and international travel.
Rosemary is survived by her husband of 49 years, Steve; her son, Eric and his wife Katya; sons, Jason and Ryan; son, Kevin and his wife Bronwyn; daughter, Lisa and her husband Jon and her daughter Melissa and her husband RJ; her four grandchildren, Sonya, Marina, Julia and Logan; and many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Ted; and many aunts and uncles. Rosemary was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and cherished aunt to many, and a friend to all.
A celebration of life will be held in August 2020 in Anchorage. Donations may be made in Rosemary's honor to the Alaska Food Bank or any charity that strives to alleviate human suffering.
