Theresa Lupe Jarvis

Longtime Alaska resident Theresa "Terry" Jarvis passed away peacefully, at age 96.

Theresa was born in Chihuahua, Chihuahua, Mexico, on March 9, 1924. She was the ninth child of Miguel and Luz Chavez and her family moved to El Paso, Texas, shortly after in 1928.

Later, as an Army wife, she moved frequently until the family moved to Anchorage, Alaska, in July 1965.

A retail employee most all of her life, she worked at the Northern Commercial Company and then Nordstrom.

Terry was kind and caring to all that knew her.

Her favorite pastimes were to crochet, knit and garden. During World War ll, she enjoyed going to the USO dances in El Paso with her friends.

Terry was preceded in death by her daughter, Yvonne Jarvis Ungerecht.

She leaves behind daughter, Rebecca Kimbell and son-in-Law Dave Kimbell; son, Rick Jarvis; daughter, Gloria Selberg; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

The family would like to express sincere appreciation to Providence Hospice and Hospice of Anchorage for their support and kindness. Please donate in her name to either hospice organization.

Per her wishes, no formal services are planned.
