Beloved family man and true adventurer Thomas Francis Lake, age 92, passed away on July 12, 2020, while surrounded by family at his son's home in Chugiak, Alaska.

A service will be held at Legacy Family Funeral Home, Wasilla Heritage Chapel, 1015 South Check Street in Wasilla, Alaska, at 7 p.m., on July 16, 2020, with a viewing prior, at 6 p.m. A formal burial ceremony will be held Friday, July 17, 2020, at Joint Base Elmendorf Richardson.

Thomas Lake, better known as "Pops," was born on Dec. 20, 1927, in Brown County, Ohio, to Leon Pearl Lake and Mary Boone. Pops was a World War II veteran and avid homesteader. He is leaving behind his sister, Mary Ellen Riffle; and three sons, James, Jeff and Mike Lake; along with his seven grandkids; four great-grandkids; and eight great-great-grandkids.
