Vera May Delgado

Vera May Delgado passed away on Feb. 21, 2020, in Anchorage, Alaska, surrounded by her children. Vera was born on Jan. 29, 1947, in Glennie, Mich., to Deforrest and Helen Quick. In 1963, the family moved to Alaska, where Vera attended East Anchorage High School, graduating in 1965. After retiring from the U.S. Postal Service, Vera was happiest gardening, sewing and researching her family history. She was a sweet, gentle, giving soul, who was especially fond of animals and had a long history of providing a home to neglected and abandoned animals.

Vera is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her daughter, Jodi Plikat with son-in-law Aaron and grandsons, Asa and Gideon; son, Daniel C. Delgado with daughter-in-law Gina and granddaughter Gillian; and her sister and brother-in-law, Amy and Frank Frusciante.

The family would like to thank all her friends, neighbors and caregivers for all the compassion and support they provided Vera throughout the years. She will be missed.
