Virginia Audine Ingram, born in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, was a true citizen of the world. As the daughter of Joan Audine Ingram and Naval Officer Forney 'Buddy' Hurst Ingram Jr., she embarked on a global journey from a young age. Her family's naval background took her from Hawaii to California, New York, Maryland, Spain, Washington, and finally to Alabama, where she proudly graduated from Auburn University in 1983.

Upon graduation, she packed her belongings and drove to Homer, Alaska, in her cherished gold-colored Volvo, accompanied by her sister Isabel. In 1983, Ginny relocated to Girdwood, Alaska, where she formed many enduring friendships and began her career at the Double Musky Inn.

Among Ginny's many achievements, her greatest source of pride was her son Benjamin. Born in 1991, Ben was the center of Ginny's world. From his early years to his college days, Ginny was a constant presence, cheering him on at football games and celebrating his every success. Her love for Ben was boundless, and she never missed an opportunity to share her pride in him. She shared the same sentiment for her grandson, Camden, who adored her as his "Gigi."

Ginny was very fond of travel and adventure, always finding the nearest body of water available. She could often be found swimming, snorkeling, boating, scuba diving or at the local fishing hole, but always on the hunt for fish. Ginny had a fondness for incorporating her favorite colorful animals from around the world into her lifestyle. She was known for her vibrant personality, generosity, kindness, quick wit, and free spirit. There was not a card game she couldn't win, or trivia fact she didn't know. She was an excellent gardener and valued the world's beauty, from art to nature. Ginny enjoyed meeting new people and devoted her life to making a positive impact on others. She will be deeply missed by all the people whose lives she touched.

Ginny is survived by her son, Benjamin, her daughter-in-law Eva, her grandson, Camden; her brother, Forney Hurst Ingram III; her sister, Berenice Isabel Halpin; and her husband, Mark; as well as her nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews, including Javan and Jenn Halpin, their children Liberty and Levi, Kirsten and Tucker Thompson, their children Maeve and Evie, and Tara Ingram, Forney Ingram IV 'Buddy,' and Dawson Ingram; and her beloved dog, Joy.

A memorial service will be held to honor the vibrant life of Ginny on Sunday, April 14, 2024. The service will take place at Anchorage Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Following the service, there will be a Celebration of Life Reception at Fox Hallow Chalet from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Ginny's final resting place will be distributed across her favorite bodies of water.
