Wayne Francis Larson

Wayne Francis Larson, 82, passed away on July 15, 2020, of natural causes, in Anchorage, Alaska. He was born in Chamberlain, S.D., on Sept. 27, 1937, to Walter and Olga Larson and grew up on the family farm along with his sister Virginia.

Wayne was a graduate of Pukwana High School and South Dakota State University Brookings with a Master of Science in agriculture.

Wayne served a full career working for the Food and Drug Administration as an inspector. In 1960, his first job for the FDA was in Minneapolis, Minn., for 8 years, then in Chicago, Ill., for 5 years. Wayne was called to open an FDA office in Anchorage. After 3 years, he moved to Seattle, Wash. Ultimately, he went back to Anchorage at the next opportunity and retired in 2003.

Wayne will be remembered as a kind brother and uncle. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish.

Grateful for sharing his life is his sister, Virginia Peters of Minneapolis; his nephew, Michael Peters of Dallas, Texas; his niece, Cynthia Herbst of Minneapolis; and grandnephews, Sean, Frank and Paul of Minneapolis.
