Wilmer Jayson "Bill" Oudal, 88, died peacefully on Feb. 2, 2020.

Bill was born on Aug. 27, 1931, in Minneapolis, Minn., to Oswald and Comfort Oudal. In 1953, he graduated from Augsburg College and later earned a master's degree at the University of Minnesota. After serving in the Army in North Korea, Bill answered a call from Jesus to teach math at Covenant High School in Unalakleet, Alaska, where he also directed the choir and coached basketball. There he met Anna Marie, also teaching at the school, and they married in 1962. God blessed them with four daughters, whom they raised in Unalakleet until relocating to Glennallen, Alaska, where Bill was a math teacher and high school principal. After retiring and relocating to Eagle River, Alaska, he taught at a number of schools in the Anchorage area and was adjunct instructor at University of Alaska Anchorage. He faithfully served in his churches, most recently First Covenant Church Anchorage.

Bill is survived by his wife, Anna Marie; children, Martha (Ben) Schoffmann of Eagle River, Elizabeth (Mark) Sellers of The Colony, Texas, Rebekah Oudal (Kevin Kuper) of Kenosha, Wis., and Joanna Oudal (John Hester) of Anchorage; grandchildren, Abigail (Chase) Gates of Palmer, Alaska, and Miriam Schoffmann of Eagle River; great-grandson, Stoick Gates; siblings, Robert Oudal of Minneapolis and Yvonne Rhodes of Orchard Park, N.Y.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Bill was preceded in death by his parents and his younger brother, Richard Oudal.

A memorial service is scheduled for 11 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 6, 2020, at First Covenant Church, 1145 C Street in Anchorage, preceded by a viewing at 10 a.m. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Bill's life. The family would like to thank the staff at Anchorage Regional Hospital and Bill's many caregivers and friends for their help and prayers.

Arrangements were entrusted to Janssen's Eagle River Funeral Home.
