Zachary Paul Seals of Palmer, Alaska, passed away suddenly on Thursday, Sept. 3, 2020. A service to celebrate his life will be held at 4 p.m., on Saturday, Sept. 19, 2020, at Legacy Wasilla Heritage Chapel, 1015 S Check Street.

Zachary was born on June 1, 1989, in Palmer, to David and Laurel Seals. While in second grade at Cottonwood Creek Elementary, Zach made his first lasting mark in the world. His name and hand prints were included in the concrete during the initial construction of Wonderland Park in Wasilla. Zach grew up adventurous and fun-loving; he loved the outdoors, summer or winter, especially Cottonwood Lake and the Hatcher Pass area. He enjoyed being in the Boy Scouts and dreamed of someday serving in the Navy. Zachary graduated Valley Pathways High School in 2008, then joined the Navy in 2009 and traveled the world. He was proud to serve and his family was proud of him. After his service, Zach was an outstanding student in the Computer Systems Technology program at Mat-Su College in Palmer from 2012 through 2016. Until last year, Zach worked in different places around the Valley, including the Mat-Su School District. In 2019, Zach worked hard for and won a coveted IT position with Unisys Federal serving Elmendorf AFB and he was excited about his job. We were again so proud of our Zachary. He loved books, video games and singing karaoke, but mostly Zach loved his family and friends.

Our "gentle giant" was a loving son, brother, grandson, nephew and uncle, and he will be keenly missed. Zachary is survived by his father, David Seals; his mother and stepfather, Laurel and Tim Doyle; his brothers, Chris Bernhardt, Don Seals and Rocky Rivard; his sister, Jessica Seals and her partner Jesse Lee; sister, Becca Seals and her partner Brian Munton with their children Damien, Aurora, Dahlia and Amelia; and his sister, Kat Seals. He also leaves behind his grandmothers, Betty Elder and Ann Seals; aunt, Vickie Elder and her husband Darren Evosevich; uncle, Lyle Elder and his wife Missy; uncle, Noel Elder, his wife Stacy and their children Myranda, Lillian and Gabrielle; aunt, Donna Seals, her husband Steve Stark and her daughter Alyssa; aunt, Judy Seals and her son Nathan; also his best friend, Mark Hermon. Gone too soon.
