Tina Marie Jernigan died in Fairbanks, Alaska, after a long, hard-fought battle with breast cancer.

Born Tina Marie Walsh in Los Angeles, Calif., a holy terror in her younger days, she settled down as she grew older and wiser. Tina, a fantastic storyteller and a great cook, traveled and lived all over the United States, finally putting down roots in Alaska. Fiercely loyal to her friends and family, if you needed it, she'd give you her last dime or the shirt off her back.

She will be terribly missed by her sons, John Nelson and JC Jernigan. She is survived by her sons; daughter, Brenna Goodearle; grandson, Dalton Oesterreich; and many brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. Her parents John E. Walsh and Lorraine E. (Struck) Walsh preceded her in death, as did two brothers.
