Jason Robert Eisert

Dec 23, 1979 -

Mar 10, 2021

Jason Robert Eisert, beloved son, father, brother, uncle, friend and lover of literature and music, went to be with our Lord on March 10, 2021. Jason was born in Jamestown, N.D., on Dec. 23, 1979, and lived in Moorhead, Minn., until 1985, when the Eisert family moved to Anchorage, Alaska. Jason graduated from Dimond High School in Anchorage and went on to receive his bachelor's degree and master's degree in English literature from the University of Alaska Anchorage. Jason worked for the Anchorage School District and taught English at West High School and at South High School in Anchorage.

Jason is best remembered for his kindness toward others, his love and laughter, his eloquent writing and, of course, his drumming! Jason literally gave the shirt off his back for anyone in need and always gave hugs to family and friends to show how much he cared for them and never wanted anyone to feel left out or unloved. His pride and joy were his two sons: Cohen and Emmett.

Jason is survived by his sons, Cohen Everett Eisert and Emmett Warren Eisert; his parents, Greg and Stacey Eisert; brother, Christopher (Maggie) Eisert; and three nephews, Kai, Carson and Finn Eisert, all of Anchorage. He is also survived by his grandmother, Kathy Schulz of Valley City, N.D.; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and numerous friends throughout the country and Germany.

Jason was preceded in death by his grandmother, Lydia Michaelson; grandparents, Gaylan and Corinne Eisert; grandfather, Warren Schulz; two aunts; and two lifelong friends, Nick Indahl and Zak Kaercher.

Visitation will take place on Sunday, March 21, 2021, at Evergreen Memorial Chapel, 737 E Street in Anchorage, from 2-4 p.m.

Jason's ashes will be scattered at a later date at the Eisert cabin at Big Lake, Alaska, and also on the island of Molokai, Hawaii.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Brother Francis Shelter, Bean's Cafe, the Food Bank or Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Anchorage.
