Ronale Anson of Anchorage, Alaska, passed away on July 2, 2021, at Providence Hospital.
Ronale was born in Spokane, Wash., on May 4, 1942, to Elanor and Charles Selle. She grew up in Sandpoint, Idaho, with her sisters, Donna and Firle.
Ronale loved music and arts, writing poetry and stories that she sent in for publication, traveling and cooking.
Over the years she volunteered with Ushering in the Arts, KSKA, Bowling for Kids Sake and the Anchorage Concert Chorus. She also sponsored other singers and musicians. She sang in the Messiah Chorus and with the Alaska Chamber Singers. It was a great sadness when her health declined to the point that she couldn't sing.
Ronale worked at the box office at the Alaska Center for the Performing Arts, and then in 1989 went to work for Carrs tix and then Ticketmaster, retiring in 2018 due to her health.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Hedberg; and sister, Firle Redburn.
In the last year Ronale was cared for by her daughter Tina Thompson and many friends who came to visit and have lunches and dinners with her.
Survived by her daughter, Tina Thompson; sister, Donna Fields; grandchildren, Brandon Thompson, Hannah Thompson, Cassie Godsby, Rachel Thompson and Matthew Thompson; and four great-grandchildren.
If you would like to honor Ronale's memory, please consider giving a donation to one of the places she supported: the Alaska Chamber Singers, Alaska Concert Chorus or Anchorage Symphony Orchestra.
The family would like to extend sincere thank-you's to the great compassion and care from the many nurses, doctors and medical staff and paramedics and firefighters who have cared for her so compassionately over the last year. Thank you to her care team at Home Care Assistance. A special thank you to the palliative care nurses at providence Medical Center for their most excellent care toward Ronale and her family and also so much love goes out to those friends who continued to love and support her up until her final days. God bless you.
