Sep 3, 2021

James Robert Latto, 53, went to Heaven to be with Jesus on Sept. 3, 2021.

A celebration of James' life will be held at 5 p.m., on Thursday, Oct. 14, 2021, at Changepoint Church, Raspberry Campus, 6689 Changepoint Drive, Anchorage, AK 99515. Michael Warren will officiate.

James was the youngest of two children born to Robert and Verniel Latto in Soldotna, Alaska. James grew up in Anchorage, Alaska. He attended Abbott Loop Elementary School, Hanshew Middle School and he graduated from Dimond High School in 1987.

He worked for Bell's Nursery during high school. After graduation, he began working for Costco Wholesale, where he would work for 23 years.

He met Julianne Thatch at Anchorage Christian Church during a youth group Bible study. They dated for nine months and were married in December 1989. James and Julianne have two children: a daughter, Sara, born in 1990, and a son, Joseph, born in 2007.

In 2013, James started his own company, Alaska Procurement. In 2014, he opened two additional divisions of the business, AKPRO Logistics and Fullpallet. He helped many businesses to be successful with his problem-solving skills and offering them fair and competitive pricing on products and logistics.

In his free time, James enjoyed praying, spending time with his family, fishing in his boat out of Whittier, flying his drone, studying the Bible and listening to worship music.

James will be remembered for his love of God and boldly sharing Christ with anyone who would listen, for his unconditional love of his family, for his faithfulness to his wife of 32 years and his special relationships with his children.

He is survived by his wife, Julianne Latto; daughter, Sara Latto; son, Joseph Latto; father, Robert Latto; mother, Verniel Latto of Anchorage; and sister, Linda Latto of Laguna Hills, Calif. James also leaves behind three nephews, Garrett Williams, Caleb Carter and Evan Choo; and two nieces, Kiana Williams and Emma Carter.
