Daniel Lee Grisham was a pastor and a family man. He was in the ministry for 40 years as a youth, music, associate, and full time pastor; as well as in volunteer positions as a hospital chaplain at Mat-Su Regional Hospital and in a missionary capacity. "Pastor Dan", as he was known, was an avid wood worker and a fantastic gardener and landscaper.
Dan had a family verse from Isaiah 40:31, "But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up on wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint."
Dan is survived by his wife, Candice; his sisters, Kathy Hendon and Gloria Patxot; his children, Joshua Grisham, Miriam Little, and Adam Grisham; his grandchildren, Chandra Thompson, Kobe Little, Avah Hanenburg, Elowyn Grisham, Isaiah Grisham, Willow Grisham, and Boone Grisham; and his great grandchild, Elijah Thompson. He is preceded in death by his parents, Derwood Grisham and Martha Martin; and his first wife, Barbara Grisham.
A service took place at Creekside Church in Wasilla on Wednesday, Oct. 13, at 11 a.m. Dan was buried at Aurora Cemetery in Wasilla beside his first wife, Barbara, with military honors.
