Nancy Mears

On Jan. 24, 2022, Nancy Ann Mears passed away peacefully, at the age of 86, after a prolonged battle with dementia and recently COVID-19. She is with the good Lord now.

She was a South Carolinian native whose life took her to Alaska and Washington. Her devout spirit fueled her dedication to detail while employed in hospital record processing to high school attendance administration.

But her talents did not end there. Nancy had won many recognitions and awards for her work in community theater, ceramics and quilting.

She was passionate about dogs, from the three dogs of her own to the many neighbors' dogs she pet sat. She was a loyal fan and viewer of the Westminster dog show. Her favorite breed was the miniature poodle. She was a very skilled canasta player as well as a thoughtful and accommodating hostess. Her cooking talents and southern recipes always made sure no one ever left her table hungry.

She was a loving wife and mother. Nancy is survived by her sister, husband and two children. Her ashes were set in place in Mountain View Cemetery on Feb. 22, 2022. She will be fondly remembered and sorely missed.
